The sunset dhow boat ride remains the number one experience — two hours on a traditional boat along the reef, with the sky turning the color of embers over the water. It's the kind of evening you remember long after you've gone home.
A visit to the seaweed farm shows you a real, less touristy side of life in Jambiani — the women of the local cooperative grow and dry seaweed at low tide, right on the coral flat exposed in front of the village. It's an hour and a half that says more about Zanzibar than any brochure.
